Svetlost- traži mnogo sunca

Temperatura - toplo (+16 do 20ºC noću); zimi temperatura ne sme pasti ispod +15ºC

Zalivanje- umereno zalivanje leti; zimi ne zalivati; svakih 14 dana dodati dozu posebnog umetnog gnojiva za kaktuse

Vlažnost- traži donekle vlažan vazduh; leti treba povremeno stvarati vodenu maglicu, ali ne prskati biljku

Zemlja- standardna ili vapnenasta mešavina zemlje

 

 

Već najmanje sadnice kaktusa Cephalocereus Senilis, ili starčeve glave, imaju sedu kosu. Da bi kosa ostala čista stavite oblutke na zemlju oko kaktusa. Ako leti ne pazimo na vlažnost, biljku često zna napasti crv ili crveni pauk. Treba izbegavati promajna mesta. Ova vrsta kaktusa cveta samo u svojoj domovini, Meksiku, jer se ružičasti cvetovi jevljaju tek kad kaktus dosegne visinu od 6 metara ili više. Može se uzgojiti setvom: seme se seje u fino prosejanu peskovitu zemlju i prekrije tankim slojem.
